Dr. Zoe Filyk has been working as a Family physician for 16 years in Calgary. She has an interest in mental health, depression and anxiety, chronic migraine headache treatments (CHAMP), maternity prenatal care as well as dermatology. Dr. Filyk is an Associate Clinical Professor at the Cumming School of Medicine at The University of Calgary and the Dept. of Family Medicine.
Dr Alexia Schneider has been working as a Family doctor in Okotoks and Calgary since 2013, also previously working at the High River Low Risk Obstetric Group, and Urgent Care in Okotoks. Dr Schneider enjoys caring for all members of a patient’s family and has a special interest in Prenatal care, Paediatrics and Contraception counselling, as well as Preventative Health and mental health.
Dr Elizabeth Nguyen completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at the University of Ottawa. She went on to earn her MD at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. After completing her residency training at Queen’s University, she practiced in Ontario for 3 years before moving to Calgary in 2018.
Dr Vincent Vong is a lifelong Calgarian and graduated with a BA in Sociology from the U of C. After working a few years with various non-profit and charity groups, he returned to the University of Calgary and completed a combined MD/MBA degree and subsequently a residency program in family medicine. He believes in offering a broad spectrum of care to patients’ of all backgrounds and in all of life’s stages.
Dr. Sara Kunneman was born and raised in small-town Nebraska, U.S.A. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Nebraska Wesleyan University, and received her MD from University of Nebraska School of Medicine. She then went on to complete her Family Practice Residency at Methodist Charlton Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where she also received specialty training in Sports Medicine for Primary Care.
While living in Dallas, she met a charming Canadian who shared her love of adventures in the mountains, and in 2010 she moved to Calgary to join him. Since making Calgary her home, she has enjoyed practicing Family Medicine in the outpatient setting. She takes pride in seeing patients of all ages and complexities, and she believes that mental health and preventative care play an important role in the care of her patients. .
Dr. Sara returns from Maternity leave November 1, 2020. As of June 1, 2020 Dr. Kunneman’s patients will be seen by Dr. Amanda Ho at Westside Medical, as Dr. Ho continues to provide coverage for Dr. Sara until Oct 28, 2020.
Dr Amanda Ho A very warm welcome to Dr. Amanda Ho, Covering for Dr Sara Kunneman’s patients while she is away on maternity. Dr. Sara returns from Maternity leave November 1, 2020. Dr. Amanda Ho grew up in Vancouver and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology from the University of British Columbia. After completing her MD at the UBC Southern Medical Program in Kelowna, she moved to Edmonton for her residency in Family Medicine. She thoroughly appreciates the opportunity to work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. When she isn’t working, she loves to play and train for ultimate frisbee, and has competed at various tournaments across the country and abroad. Dr. Ho is a Locum Physician covering Dr. Sara Kunneman’s patient panel until end of Oct 2020 while Dr Kunneman is away on leave.
