Jaydess  

IUDs are comprised of a small cylinder on the IUD contains the hormone progesterone, which is slowly released. The lining of the uterus becomes thinner and the cervical mucus becomes thicker which makes it harder for sperm to enter the uterus.  This IUD can remain inserted for 3 years, before needing to be replaced.  Jaydess is recommended for women who have not had a previous pregnancy.  It also provides a 99% effective rate. Jaydess is a smaller T-shaped IUD, with a very low dose of hormones so women still have periods monthly.

Kyleena

 IUDs are comprised of a small cylinder on the IUD contains the hormone levonorgestrel, which is slowly released. Kyleena is a small T-shaped IUD, with a low dose of hormone.

Mirena

IUDs are comprised of a small cylinder on the IUD contains the hormone levonorgestrel, which is slowly released. The lining of the uterus becomes thinner and the cervical mucus becomes thicker which makes it harder for sperm to enter the uterus.  Depending on the device, the IUD can remain inserted for 5 years, before needing to be replaced. FDA-approved and made of soft, flexible plastic. Over 99 percent effective in preventing pregnancy and Estrogen-free, it lasts for up to five years and fertility returns on removal. It is also a very good product to reduce heavy, crampy periods.

Copper IUD 

Hormone free  IUD’s with copper wire twisted around the plastic that interferes with the sperms mobility and prevents implantation for women who cannot use any hormones.The presence of the foreign body, the IUD itself, creates a hostile environment leading to prevention of a pregnancy.  The IUD is inserted by a health professional, in a clinic. The procedure is fairly simple, does not require anesthesia, and only takes a few minutes.  Depending on the device, the IUD can remain inserted for 3-10 years, before needing to be replaced. This IUD interferes with the sperm’s mobility and prevents implantation for women who cannot use any hormones.  They can also make periods heavier and ‘crampier’ so it is not ideal for those who already experience these symptoms. Emergency contraception. These ones are very effective to prevent a pregnancy if you’ve had unprotected intercourse in the last 5 days.
