Originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Emina Avdic was raised in Calgary while her family navigated the difficulties of adjusting to life in a new country. She completed both her medical degree and Family Medicine residency at the University of Calgary.

Dr. Avdic was drawn to Family Medicine as she wanted to form longterm and meaningful relationships with her patients. She enjoys practicing comprehensive primary care including various in-office procedures and also has a special interest in mental health care. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, redecorating her home, and spoiling her pet cat, Rocky."

Dr. Zoe Filyk moved to Red Deer to complete her residency training in family medicine at the University of Alberta, Rural Alberta North Program. Prior to that she completed a  2 year Internal Medicine rotation at the Foothills Hospital. She then moved to back home to Calgary. She enjoys a full scope of practice with an emphasis on women’s health, procedures including IUDs, chronic migraine headaches and  complex chronic disease management. In her free time Dr Filyk enjoys running, reading, and spending time with family and friends and her dog Boris.
